Regis Resources (ASX: RRL) said Friday that a contract team member was fatally injured while carrying out work at the Duketon South gold operation in Western Australia.
Next of kin have been notified and the incident is under investigation by the WA Police and WorkSafe, with Regis providing full assistance, the company said.
Operations at Duketon are temporarily suspended.
Regis said it is providing support to all those affected by the tragic incident wherever possible, and employee assistance programs have been activated. The thoughts of everyone at Regis are with the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased, the company said.
